Why isn’t Flighty on Android?

We understand the desire of having access to a great user experience on your preferred device. Here’s why it doesn’t exist yet.

The simple answer? We want Flighty to be truly great. Our vision isn't to create just another travel app that competes for space on your phone. Instead, we're aiming for Flighty to be the only app anyone should ever need when they fly. This commitment to excellence drives everything we do.

Parts of Flighty's success comes from its deep integration with iOS, taking full advantage of Apple-specific features that make the app feel right at home on your iPhone. Creating an Android version isn't as simple as copying the app over - it would mean reimagining Flighty from the ground up to provide an equally amazing experience on a very different platform.

We've all seen apps that were hastily adapted from one platform to another, and the result is almost always a subpar experience that doesn't feel quite right on the new platform. Those are the kinds of experiences we personally dislike, and it's not the kind of product we want to create, nor the experience we want to offer our users.

As a small team of just four people, we believe in doing one thing exceptionally well rather than spreading ourselves too thin. Developing and maintaining two separate apps would divide our focus and potentially compromise the quality you've come to expect from Flighty. Right now, our priority is continuing to enhance and perfect Flighty for iOS. While we'd love to bring Flighty to Android users someday, it's not in our immediate plans.

In the meantime, join our Android waitlist to express your interest and be notified of any change to our plans.

We hope you understand our decision. And if you ever find yourself switching to an iPhone... well, you know exactly which app to download first!
