How do I import flights from my calendar so they are tracked in Flighty?
Flighty can sync with your calendar to find and add flights automatically — no manual entry required.
This feature pulls in both past and future flights, keeps monitoring 24/7, and respects your privacy every step of the way. It works with flights added by Siri, Google, other apps, or exported from other services.
Why it’s powerful:
Bulk import your past year of flights (free for the last 12 months; older flights require Flighty Pro).
Auto-sync flights as they appear in your calendar.
Great for pilots and crew with fast-changing schedules.
Simple setup, no maintenance required.
How do I set this up?:
Flighty → Settings → Calendar Sync
Choose which calendars to monitor. Flighty will scan for events that appear to be flights.
How does Flighty manage my calendar data?:
All scanning happens on-device.
Less than 1% of calendar events are ever shared.
Only likely flight events are sent to our server for matching.
All data is anonymized, and nothing is stored or retained beyond the match.
When a flight is matched, it’s added to your app and you’ll get a confirmation.
How frequently does Flighty sync flights from my calendar?
To balance battery life, privacy, and speed, Flighty syncs every ~30 minutes in the background and anytime you open the app to ensure you always have the latest flight data.
For best performance:
Keep Background App Refresh and Push Notifications enabled.
Avoid using Low Power Mode.
Don’t force quit the app.
What about past flights?
Pro users can import flights as far back as their calendar goes. Free users can import the last 365 days of flights. It’s an easy way to load your full flight history or catch any you might’ve missed.
Note:
To import older flights, set iOS Settings → Calendar → Sync to All Events.
I'm a pilot or flight crew, can this help me manage my schedule?
Your schedule changes constantly — Flighty's Calendar Import helps keep everything in one place.
Simply sync your flights to your calendar using apps like RosterBuster, iAIMS, MiCrew, or FLICA.
Enable Calendar Import in Flighty.
That’s it — your flights will automatically appear in the app.
Note: If your crew app groups multiple flights into a single calendar event (“Aggregated Flights”), Flighty will do its best to parse them. For best results, check your app’s settings to make each flight a separate event.
Support for Google, Microsoft Exchange, and other calendar apps
Flighty only searches the Apple Calendar app, and any calendars that appear in it.
If you don't use the Apple Calendar app for anything else, there is a work around. Just add your calendars to Apple Calendar and disable alerts. This way Flighty will find your flights, without you getting duplicate calendar alerts.
