What is 'Where Is My Plane?' in Flighty?
Where Is My Plane? shows you where the exact aircraft scheduled to operate your flight is now, and how it’s getting to your airport.
To view it, open your flight in Flighty and scroll to Where’s My Plane?. You’ll see:
The plane’s current position
The flight leg it operates before yours (the inbound flight)
A short history of where it’s been
Extra details (when available) like the tail number, aircraft age, first-flight date, range, and cruising speed
How it works
Behind the scenes, Flighty links your flight to its inbound aircraft and begins monitoring it up to 25 hours before departure.
Unlike other flight trackers that only follow your flight number, Flighty tracks the actual airplane. This lets us identify and alert issues about your flight to you as early as possible. If your inbound aircraft is delayed, there’s a good chance your departure will be, too.
Why it matters
Seeing your aircraft’s real progress gives you a realistic picture of where it’s coming from, helping you understand potential delays before the airline even announces them. Flighty predicts and communicates delays hours ahead of official updates, so you can stay informed and make decisions faster.
